Discover Marymount Manhattan! Explore the City! Navigate freshman year with ease!

Earn credits this summer! Be prepared for the fall semester!


WHAT is Jump Start? Jump Start is a summer program for incoming freshmen, which allows the student to earn a few credits, arrive early to campus, and explore the city before the official start of freshmen year.

WHEN is Jump Start? Jump Start 2008 will run August 10th – 27th

HOW does Jump Start work? The program includes:
  • Freshman Year Mentoring, FYM (one-credit) This seminar enhances students' awareness of college expectations and challenges. Students will become acquainted with opportunities available at MMC and in the community.
  • HUM 123, Themes in Humanities (three-credits) This course takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying human behavior as it relates to functioning and contributing within society. Specifically, this course will focus on New York society and will take advantage of the many cultural opportunities of the city to enhance learning and discovery.
  • Cultural Programs Students will also participate in city tours, attend a Broadway play and take advantage of their new city.

WHAT does Jump Start cost? The Summer 2008 Jump Start Program costs are as follows:

Tuition For Jump Start Program:$1,884.00
Registration Fee: $94.00
Housing Charges: $660.00
Books, Writing, FYM Course: $500.00
Total:$3,138.00


Meals costs are additional and are estimated at $35.00 day based upon the prior year's experience.
