In order to foster student-centered learning and community interaction, Marymount Manhattan has developed an overall master plan to carry its physical plant into the future.

Strategic improvements to the College's facilities will have a profound impact on ways our students learn and interact with faculty, staff and one another. Enhanced facilities will make MMC more attractive to potential students looking for a state-of-the-art educational environment. The College has already invested more than $10 million over the past five years to modernize and expand its facilities.

The Lowerre Family Terrace is the first major project of This is the Day. A 5,000 square foot "urban quad" on the rooftop above the Theresa Lang Theatre, connecting the third floors of the Main and Nugent buildings, the Lowerre Family Terrace will provide a unique venue for the entire MMC community to enjoy. It is scheduled for completion this spring.

The Challenge: To create an environment that fosters student-centered learning and community interaction.
The Need: $10 million for capital improvements, including technological upgrades, renovations and other facility enhancements.
The Solution: Capital projects, such as the Lowerre Family Terrace, will support and encourage collaboration, reflection and discovery.
